The Common Good Gardens began with a shoreline gardener's vision to help address the problem of hunger in our community. Gifted with the enviable power of persuasion, she approached a member of Grace Church and inquired about an unused area behind the Church. With a sense of shared purpose, the Church agreed to provide support. So, beginning in 2002, a group of talented, highly motivated gardeners designed and built today's bountiful vegetable garden – a garden that fulfills the founding vision.
To provide fresh fruits and vegetables to those in need in the shoreline community
To improve access to fresh, nutritious food
To continually learn about gardening, share expertise, and offer hands-on experience
To support and inspire the shoreline community through gardening and share the joy of volunteerism
